Gunnar Nelson set to face Justin Edwards at UFC on FUEL in London

Gunnar Nelson is set to face Justin “Fast Eddy” Edwards at UFC on FUEL in London, England on 16th February 13.

Gunni is coming off an impressive first round submission victory over Demarques Johnson (who weighted in at 183lbs) in his UFC debut in Nottingham.

The announcement was made via the UFC’s official UK twitter account earlier today

The tweet reads as follows..

“Submissions master @GunniNelson will be looking to make it six stoppages in a row against @FastEddyMMA at #UFCLondon2013 on 16th Feb!”

We caught up with Gunnar’s manager and father Haraldur Nelson

“I’ve seen some of Justin’s fights and remember him from TUF where he was in my opinion winning the fight against Tony Ferguson (who went on to win the season) before he got caught with an up kick.”

“From what I’ve seen Justin is pretty explosive and strong and obviously has some slick submissions and a deadly guillotine like the fans saw in his last fight against Josh Neer that won him Submission of the Night. That seems to be his money move, so to speak.”

“But Gunnar is very ready for anything he brings and he’s looking forward to testing his skills against “Fast Eddy”.”

“I’m sure both of them will put on a great show for the fans.”

“Fast Eddy” is 8-2 as a professional and is 2-2 in the UFC with his victories over Jorge Lopez and Josh Neer. He lost decisions to Clay Harvison and John Maguire.

Edwards has finished 6 of his 8 wins by submission, and is very slick on the ground, having choked out Josh Neer in his most recent outing
