[Press Release] The Manchester-based combat sports company add another top fighter to their ranks –

Britain’s fastest-growing combat sports organisation have recruited another big name for their roster – lightweight Mixed Martial Arts competitor Saul Rogers.

A former UFC star, Rogers powered his way through an entire season of the TV series The Ultimate Fighter undefeated, and has registered 12 wins in 13 fights during a six-year professional career.

A representative of SBG Gym Manchester, Rogers has most recently claimed victories against Andre Winner (Tanko Fighting Championships #1) and Michell Adelina (Absolute Championship Berkut 47).

The signing of Rogers moves Tanko’s fight talent numbers into the double digits, with the Bolton-born athlete joining the likes of Brendan Loughnane, Dakota Ditcheva, Panicos Yusuf and Dean James.

Widely regarded as one of the most exciting combatant of a generation, Rogers is tipped as the British fighter to look out for during 2017, with several high-profile fights in the pipeline for the rest of the year.

“Saul symbolises everything that Tanko is about,” commented Jamie Alaise, the combat sports company’s joint founder and Chief Executive Officer.

“Not only is he a terrific athlete with a wonderful future in MMA, it’s his spirit, commitment levels and hunger for success that makes him such an appealing signing,”

“We’ll do everything we can to ensure he receives the levels of support he needs to move to the very top.”

Saul also spoke out about signing on the dotted line for the combat sports brand.

“This is the biggest chapter in my career, and Tanko are the best possible team to have in my corner for the ride,” he said.

“Tanko are a company who understand exactly what athletes need to grow and develop, and they are in the industry for all the right reasons.

“With Tanko behind me, I know I’ll have the best possible future in MMA, competing against the most talented fighters in the business and starring on the biggest shows in the world.”

The signing of Rogers is another huge coup for the evolving combat sports brand, which branched out into the events business in 2016 and has at least two more shows taking place this year: Tanko Fighting Championships 3, and Tanko Muay Thai League.
