Garry Cook “The UFC is going to Dublin on July 19th”

The UFC confirmed today that it will be returning to the O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland on the 19th July 2014.

Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa Garry Cook confirmed the news in an interview with TalkSport radio this afternoon.

The last time Ireland played host to the UFC was back in January 2009 at UFC 93, which saw Dan Henderson taking on Rich Franklin in the main event and Irishman Tom Egan faced John Hathaway on the undercard.

The news has come only days after Conor McGregor posted on Twitter saying he had “nailed the test” earlier in the week following his ACL injury back in August in Boston.
