Luke Rockhold vs Chris Weidman II set for UFC 199

After Yoel Romero violated the USADA regulations this past month the UFC middleweight contender picture was all up in the air. That is until today when Dana White announced on Garbage time that Luke Rockhold will rematch Chris Weidman in his first UFC middleweight title defence in June at UFC 199.

Weidman, who was undefeated until losing to Rockhold at UFC 194, campaigned heavily for the rematch in the aftermath of the fight. And with Romero, Jacare Souza, Anderson Silva and Vitor Belrort otherwise engaged, he gets his wish.

For former Strikeforce fighter Rockhold it will be a chance to establish himself as a steady champion with the prospect of some more big fights on the horizon later this year.
