Quick Picks: UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs Ortega

After the madness of UFC 218 last week, it’s back to reality for the world’s foremost MMA fight provider this week as the famed Octagon visits Fresno, California. On paper, this card is not bad at all for a fight night event and serves up a well-timed featherweight main event between veteran Cub Swanson and emerging contender Brian Ortega after champion Max Holloway defended his strap at the aforementioned pay-per-view just seven days ago.

Here are my picks for the event:

Featherweight – Cub Swanson vs. Brian Ortega: I think this might be coming a little bit too soon for Ortega. Fancy Cub to win the striking battle on his way to a comfortable win.

Featherweight – Jason Knight vs. Gabriel Benítez: Knight

Bantamweight – Marlon Moraes vs. Aljamain Sterling: Sterling

Lightweight – Scott Holtzman vs. Darrell Horcher: Holtzman

Middleweight – Eryk Anders vs. Markus Perez: Anders

Bantamweight – Albert Morales vs. Benito Lopez: Morales

Women’s Flyweight – Alexis Davis vs. Liz Carmouche: Davis

Bantamweight – Luke Sanders vs. Andre Soukhamthath: Sanders

Bantamweight – Carls John de Tomas vs. Alex Perez: Perez

Bantamweight – Frankie Saenz vs. Merab Dvalishvili: Dvalishvili

Bantamweight – Alejandro Pérez vs. Iuri Alcântara: Alcântara

Lightweight – Chris Gruetzemacher vs. Davi Ramos: Ramos

Middleweight – Antônio Braga Neto vs. Trevin Giles: Giles
