UFC 264: McGregor vs. Poirier 3 Results

What can only be described as one of the biggest fights of the year went down on Saturday, July 11, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Conor McGregor (22-5) completed the trilogy when he took on Dustin Poirier (27-6) in the main event.

The Suga Show rolled into town in the opening bout of the main card as Sean O’Malley defeated Kris Moutinho in round three. O’Malley won in what was a pretty one sided fight and Herb Dean was forced to step in in round three to call a halt to the fight.

In the co-main event Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Gilbert Burn fought a very close fight which went to the judges scorecards. Burn was able to utilise his grappling to put Thompson on his back which was the defining factor in him winning a decision.

The main event between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor ended abruptly after McGregor seemed to have done damage to his ankle at the end of round one. Both fighters exchanged big shots before Poirier got the fight to the mat after McGregor went for a guillotine choke.
