Cage Legacy 13 Preview

This weekend sees Irish MMA continue its prominent return to action as Cage Legacy get back to action this weekend at the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. The card is set to take place behind closed doors, however, a PPV for the card is available for €10 here.

The card is stacked full of talent with fighters from across the country travelling to compete. No pro fights will take place but three amateur titles will be on the line.

IMMAF World Youth Champion and rising amateur prospect Max Lally makes a quick jump into a title fight following his first senior fight back at Iúr Fighting Championships. Fighting out of SBG Naas, Lally has been renowned for his BJJ ability, proving so in his last bout against Padraig Hannon.

He has his work cut out for him though as Andrew Barrett will be looking to add another title to his collection. Barrett has had his last two fights in Battle Arena, picking up a title in his most recent bout back in July. The ground game could be a big factor in this one but both fighters are prepared for anything as mentioned their head to head on Energized Show’s “The Face-Off” this past week.

Team Ryano’s Lewis Byrne will be hoping to pick up a title along with his first win of the year following a tough start to 2021. Across from him will be C-Mac fighter Jordan Bradshaw, who has been without action since 2019.

The third title up for grabs will be the Super Welterweight Title, a fight between Troy Gibson and Maga Zurabov. FAI has been in outstanding form as of late with two Cage Warriors titles making their way to the gym. Gibson has the opportunity to build on his impressive amateur record and bring back another belt.

In his way will be Maga Zubarov, the Samson fighter who was successful in his last bout on IÚR Fighting Championship. He’s previously fought in both Slovakia and England and will be making his Cage Legacy debut alongside teammate, Josh Allen.

A fighter to keep a very close eye on is Nauris Bartoska. He has been training in Tiger Muay Thai and has exciting stand-up ability. He’s also been very active on the Muay Thai circuit in Thailand. He takes on the experienced Team Torres fighter Darren O’Brien in a Featherweight clash.
