It was revealed earlier this week that Aisling Daly would be left without a fight for the upcoming UFC event in Poland after her opponent Claudia Gadelha suffered a back injury during wrestling practice.

SevereMMA.com is happy to report that Daly will now face Randa Markos at UFC 186. The event, set to take place on April 25, 2015 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, will happen just two weeks after “Ais the Bash” was scheduled to throw down with Gadelha in Krakow.

She will now face the No. 7 ranked Markos on a star studded card that includes Demetrious Johnson, ‘Rampage’ Jackson, and Michael Bisping.

Markos (4-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) most recently competed alongside Daly on the twentieth season of The Ultimate Fighter defeating veterans Tecia Torres and Felice Herrig in back-to-back victories before losing in the semifinals to eventual finalist Rose Namajunas. In her UFC debut at the finale Markos fought fellow semifinalist Jessica Penne, losing an exciting back-and-forth split decision.

Daly (15-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC), made history in pulling off the first ever submission in the UFC’s strawweight division when she finished Alex Chambers in the first round of her octagon debut back in December. Also on her list of accomplishments, Daly has a submission victory over current bantamweight standout Jessica Eye. The Straight Blast Gym (SBG) product will be looking to make it three wins in a row when she takes on Markos in Montreal next month.

UFC 186 was initially expected to be headlined by a Bantamweight Championship rematch between current champion T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Renan Barao. Earlier this week, however, it was announced that Dillashaw had to pull out of the fight due to a broken rib, and the event will now be led by a Flyweight Championship bout between current champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Japanese contender Kyoji Horiguchi.

None of that will matter much to Daly, though, who will be focused on showcasing the skills she continues to hone under the tutelage of John Kavanagh, among others, at SBG.
