Lorenzo Fertitta announces Forrest Griffin vs Tito Ortiz III

Earlier this morning, UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta announced the Forrest Griffin vs Tito Ortiz rubber match. The two have fought twice to split decisions in the past. One going to Forrest, one to Tito.

When asked by a fan on twitter (@ascardera) “Who will forest griffin fight next?”

Lorenzo Fertitta simply replied “Tito”

Tito desperately needs a win, his only win since 2006 came against Ryan Bader in July 2011 at UFC 132 where Tito pulled off a Submission of the night guillotine choke.

In Forrest Griffin’s last bout he took on Maurício ‘Shogun’ Rua for the second time, losing via KO at UFC 134 in Rio, Brazil. The first time he squared off against Shogun was at UFC 76, where Griffin shocked the MMA world, submitting Shogun via rear-naked choke in the 3rd round.

This must be make or break for Tito Ortiz, with the huge salary he commands and his lack of wins over the past 6 years, his days could be numbered.
