“Big Country” vs “Big Foot” confirmed for UFC 146

The official twitter of the UFC (@UFC) was confirmed that UFC 146 will see a battle between Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson and Antonio ‘Big Foot’ Silva, Frank Mir vs Cain Velasquez as well as Champion JDS vs Overeem,

“Dos Santos-Overeem not enough for you? UFC 146 will also bring you Big Country vs. Bigfoot Silva – Nelson vs. Silva is on!” @UFC

Roy Nelson has only won 1 of his last 4 bouts, but recently started a twitter/facebook campaign with the idea of losing weight and moving to Light-Heavyweight if he can get 100k followers.

UFC president Dana White has been calling for ‘Big Country’ to move to 205lbs for years now, and it looks like he may finally get his wish.

Antonio Silva is well known for his destruction of previous number 1 ranked Heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko but ‘Big Foot’ Silva is coming off being knocked out in the first round of the Strikeforce Grand Prix semi-final by Daniel Cormier.

This UFC 146 card absolutely stacked with heavyweight talent, with Junior Dos Santos defending his title for the first title against K1, Dream and Strikeforce Champion Alistair Overeem, Frank Mir is coming off the destruction of Big Nog’s arm, while Cain Velasquez is coming off the first loss of his career, and the loss of his UFC belt to “Cigano”.

This is surely one not to miss.
