“Lil Nog” injured; Thiago Silva steps in against Gustafsson

Rogerio “Lil Nog” Nogueira has been forced to pull out his bout with Alexander Gustafsson on April 14th in Stockholm, Sweden due to a knee injury

The story was originally reported by StudioMMA.com and was later confirmed by UFC officials.

Thiago Silva hasn’t fought since his “win” against Brandon Vera on January 1st 2011, which was later overturned due to SIlva using a urine adulterant when giving his sample following the bout.

He has since served his 1 year suspension and is back in the main event.

Alexander Gustafsson is 13-1 in his MMA career, with his only loss coming to Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis. He sent Matt Hamill into retirement with punches and elbows in the 2nd round then beat Vladimir “The Janitor” Matyushenko by TKO in the first round.
