Cage Contender XV: Preview and Schedule

Cage Contender XV next month promises to deliver yet another stacked card to The Kings Hall, Belfast on the 20th October 2012.

Fight Academy Ireland (FAI) fighter and coach Liam Shannon is set to take on The Ultimate Fighter veteran Ross ‘The Gladiator’ Pointon in the main event.

Also on the card, the Globeset Featherweight Grand Prix begins with Decky Dalton, also of FAI, taking on Mick Brennan, who was scheduled to face SBGi prospect Peter Quelly at the last Cage Contender in Dublin, however, Quelly took ill before the fight and the bout was scrapped.

Rich ‘Souza’ Gorey is set to take on Ronan ‘The Barbarian’ McKay in a middleweight bout.

Gorey is coming off an exciting war with Phil ‘The Honeybadger’ Mulpeter, in which he was ahead after 3 rounds, having used his jiu jitsu and ground and pound to great effect, however, in the 4th round ‘The Honeybadger’ came out strong and managed to finish the fight via ground and pound.
