Greg Loughran to face Tim Newman at Cage Warriors 49 in Wales.

Irishman Greg ‘The Hitman’ Loughran is set to face Tim Newman in a lightweight bout at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 49 in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, 27th October.

Loughran, a veteran of 40 professional fights, has recently resigned with the promotion having already fought for Cage Warriors three times in the past, amassing a 2-1 record with the company, including wins over current UFC fighter and TUF winner Jonathan Brookins, and UFC veteran Andre Winner.

‘The Hitman’ also holds wins over current TUF participant and Cage Contender lightweight champion Norman Parke, and BAMMA champ Rob Sinclair.

Tim Newman has only fought for Cage Warriors once before, earning a KO win over Grzegorz Tredowski in only 10 seconds.

Since that KO back at Cage Warriors 42, Newman lost a decision to UFC veteran Curt Warburton in BAMMA back in December 2011.

Cage Warriors 49 is really starting to take shape with Cathal Pendred set to face Bruno Carvalho and local talent, Kris Edwards and John Phillips confirmed for the event.
