Cage Contender XV returned last Saturday to The Kings Hall in Belfast with another stacked card.

In the main event, Iceland’s Arni ‘The Ice Viking’ Isaksson took on Wayne ‘Mayhem’ Murrie for the interim Cage Contender Welterweight Championship.

Isaksson, who trains in the Mjolnir gym with the likes of former Cage Contender star and now UFC fighter Gunnar Nelson, is a veteran of the sport, having fought top names like UFC fighter Dennis Siver, who he holds a submission victory over and top rated Irishman Greg Loughran, to just name a couple.

UFC and The Ultimate Fighter veteran Ross ‘The Gladiator’ Pointon took on former Antrim kick boxing champion Conor Cooke in the co-main event.

‘The Gladiator’ is known for his toughness and his willingness to fight anyone, even on short notice, having fought the likes of Michael Bisping and even heavyweight Valentijn Overeem, brother of Alistair.

Rich ‘Souza’ Gorey took on Ronan ‘The Barbarian’ McKay in a middleweight bout.

Gorey is coming off an exciting war with Phil ‘The Honeybadger’ Mulpeter, in which he was ahead after 3 rounds, having used his jiu jitsu and ground and pound to great effect, however, in the 4th round ‘The Honeybadger’ came out strong and managed to finish the fight via ground and pound.
