Owen Roddy set to face Bellator veteran Wilson Reis at Cage Warriors 50

Scotland will host an intriguing bantamweight bout when Cage Warriors makes its first ever trip to the country next month.

Wilson Reis and Owen Roddy will meet on the main card at Cage Warriors 50 at Glasgow’s Kelvin Hall on Saturday, December 8.

Reis (15-4), who hails from Sao Paulo in Brazil, fought nine times for Bellator between 2009 and 2011, clocking up a 5-4 record in the organisation.

The 27-year-old BJJ black belt, who’s a former EliteXC bantamweight champion, holds notable wins over current UFC competitors Henry Martinez and Bryan Caraway, as well as former Bellator bantamweight champion Zach Makovsky.

A BJJ world champion as a brown belt in 2004, Reis fights out of Philadelphia, USA, and is on a three-fight win streak.

Roddy (11-3), who signed an exclusive five-fight contract with Cage Warriors earlier this year, will drop to bantamweight for his debut with the organisation.

A member of the renowned SBG Ireland camp alongside current CWFC champions Conor McGregor and Chris Fields, the 29-year-old has been victorious in his last seven bouts.

Currently ranked as one of Europe’s top ten featherweights, Roddy’s last outing saw him secure a unanimous decision victory over UFC veteran Shannon Gugerty.

More exciting Cage Warriors 50 bouts are still to be announced.
