Philip Mulpeter, Martin McDonough and Lewis Long sign for Cage Warriors

Cage Warriors have added another three fighters to their exclusive roster of talent having completed the signings of Martin McDonough, Lewis Long and Philip Mulpeter.

The trio, who have signed five-fight contracts, are among the top prospects in the UK and Ireland in their respective divisions.

McDonough (9-4), who’s ranked as one of the UK’s top ten bantamweights, made an impressive debut for the organisation last month at Cage Warriors 49 in his native Wales.

The 24-year-old, a team-mate of CWFC flyweight Kris Edwards at Tillery Combat, earned a Submission of the Night bonus for his first-round victory over Dino Gambatesa in Cardiff on October 27.

McDonough is currently on a three-fight win streak since dropping a decision loss to Cage Warriors bantamweight veteran James Brum last year.

Nicknamed Mr Pink, all nine of McDonough’s wins have come via stoppage – eight of them in the first round.

Long (6-2), another Welshman, fights out of the Trojan Free Fighters camp in Cheltenham.

A judo and kickboxing black belt, 23-year-old Long has recorded notable wins over CWFC veteran Jacek Toczydlowski and the highly-ranked Diego Vital.

Despite suffering a loss to Paul Redmond at Cage Warriors 49, Long remains one of the brightest prospects in the lightweight division.

Both McDonough and Long will return to Cage Warriors action early in 2013.

Mulpeter (5-2), a welterweight fighting out of SBG in Dublin, will make his CWFC debut at Cage Warriors 51 on New Year’s Eve.

The 24-year-old has had an impressive year competing for top Irish promotion Battlezone, defeating CWFC veteran John Donnelly to win their welterweight belt via unanimous decision after an exciting five-round battle back in March.

A team-mate of Cage Warriors champions Conor McGregor and Chris Fields, Mulpeter successfully defended his title courtesy of September’s first-round TKO of Richie Gorey.
