Video – MMA Kid: SBGi’s James Gallagher

Episode 1 of Thinkhouse’s Youth Culture Series is MMA Kid.  MMA Kid is a short documentary exploring the world of mixed martial arts through the eyes of 16 year old James Gallagher, one of Ireland’s future stars of the sport.

With dreams of one day becoming a UFC champion, James first entered a cage to fight when he was just 13 years of age.  By 15 James was training in Straight Blast Gym Ireland alongside Irish MMA stars such as Conor McGregor and Cathal Pendred.

Also competing in Jiu-Jitsu, James is attempting to be the first Irish person ever to win the World Jiu—Jitsu Championship in California this June.

MMA kid is the first of ‘The Youth Culture Series,’ an ongoing series of short video documentaries by Thinkhouse, the youth communications agency, to explore various different youth cultures across Ireland.
