Cage Warriors featherweight champion Jim Alers has signed for the UFC and will face Alan Omer in a featherweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Abu Dhabi on Friday 11th April 2014.

Alers is 12-1 as a pro with 9 of his wins coming by submission and 2 by TKO/KO and is currently riding an eight fight win streak.

Alers is the latest Cage Warriors fighter to have been signed to the UFC in the past year, with the likes of Irishmen Conor McGregor and Neil Seery also signing.

We caught up with Alers, who admitted that signing for the UFC was a dream come true and vowed to show the world why he belongs on the biggest stage

“It’s a dream come true. 10 years of hard work and I finally made it.”

“I couldn’t be happier right now and this is only the beginning. I’ve known that I belong on this stage for a while.”

“Now it’s time to show the world why.”

Tickets for UFC Fight Night Abu Dhabi will go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on Monday 24th February to FLASH pre-registration and UFC Newsletter subscribers on Tuesday 25th February, and on general sale from Wednesday 26th February.
