Dana White sounded off for the first time on the UFC’s return to Ireland, scheduled for July 19th in the o2 Arena, with Conor McGregor’s return prevailing as the hot topic after Saturday night’s action in London.

“No we don’t have anything yet,” said the UFC president with regard to scheduled fights for the event. “We’re pretty confident Conor will be on that card.

“I’m Irish-American, I love Ireland, it’s the pound for pound loudest place to have an event. Last time we were there we had 9,000 people in the arena and they sounded like 90,000.

“If we could have him fight in Ireland that would be awesome, but if he can’t we have other people we can bring over. The people in Ireland have seen him fight a million times before.

“He’s good enough to be a world champion some day.”

As for whether the Dubliner will command the headline bout, when questioned the Bostonian cracked a knowing smile and said “we’ll see”, before leaving the press conference to fly back to Las Vegas.
