The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will make its highly anticipated return to Macao at the Cotai Arena on 23rd August with UFC Fight Night Macao: Bisping vs. Le.

The fight will see Michael “The Count” Bisping, go head to head with Cung Le in what is set to be an unforgettable middleweight main event.

This is undoubtedly one of the most important fights of his career to date for Britain’s Bisping, who goes into the fight on the back of a disappointing loss to Tim Kenendy, in what was his first bout since being given the all clear after a severe eye injury.

“I wanted a fight as soon as possible after that loss.” said Bisping. “Kennedy didn’t land a punch on me. He didn’t want to fight. It was a cuddle-fest. I was so disappointed that I wanted to get back in the Octagon and show the world what I can do. You’re only ever as good as your last fight.”

On being handed the opportunity to headline the fight in Macao, Bisping said:

“I’m very excited to fight in Macao. It will be my first time competing out there, which is both an honour and a privilege. However, I am going there to fight and Cung Le is going down! I’m going to show the world that I’m here to stay. I’m going nowhere and will soon be back to the top.

“Cung Le is going to get beat, from pillar to post. As soon as the ref says ‘fight’ he’s going to be in a world of pain. He’s completely outmatched. I’m bigger, stronger, taller, I’ve got the reach, and I’m much better looking!”

The British middleweight also shared his thoughts on this weekend’s title fight between middleweight champion Chris Weidman and the number 3 Lyoto Machida.

UFC 175: Weidman vs. Machida will take place on Saturday July 5th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Despite the fact that Weidman remains undefeated, Bisping believes Machida has what it takes to walk away with the belt:

“It’s a good fight but I think Machida will win by decision. Weidman’s slow. I think Machida’s too quick for him. I think Machida’s too quick for most people!”
