After news broke yesterday that reigning Cage Warriors champion Nicolas Dalby would defend his CWFC welterweight title against Mohsen Bahari in the main event at Cage Warriors 74, today another top-quality 170 lbs bout has been added to the card with Irishman Philip “The Honey Badger” Mulpeter taking on England’s Tom Breese.

Breese has been a highly touted prospect on the regional scene for years and will make his Cage Warriors debut when he steps in against Mulpeter. Having missed the last two years because of injury, Breese will be looking to bounce back here strongly with a win. The Englishman was undefeated as an amateur before putting an impressive 6-0 run together as a professional, last beating Warren Kee at BAMMA 11 in December 2012.

In a Cage Warriors official press release Breese said;  “Philip Mulpeter is a solid opponent from a good team and he has improved a lot recently, but I’m looking to make a statement in my first Cage Warriors fight and show a much-improved Tom Breese. I’m currently in training camp with my team at Tristar Gym, and I’ll be prepared to put on a big performance come fight night.”

Mulpeter won’t be an easy out, though, and he himself makes a comeback from nine months on the sidelines after his August fight at CWFC 70 against Jake Bostwick fell through due to Bostwick’s failure to make weight. The Laoisman is a dangerous fighter on the feet with progressive grappling and will want to improve his 7-4 record against a fighter who the promotion have high hopes for.

“I’m excited to get back in there, it’s been awhile. I’m better than Tom everywhere, he’s never fought anyone like me. He won’t be able for my pressure.”

Cage Warriors 74 takes place for the very first time at the Copper Box in the Olympic Village in London England on November 15th and is shaping up to be quiet the evening of fights.
