Norman Parke and Jorge Masvidal verbally agree to bout in Boston

UFC announced today via their official website that Northern Irishman Stormin’ Norman Parke and #13 ranked Jorge Masvidal have verbally agreed to fight in Boston on the 18th January 2015.

Parke, who is 20-2-1 in his career and 4-0-1 inside the UFC, was due to fight on the upcoming Mexico card, but was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. His opponent Diego Sanchez was later also forced off the card with an injury.

Masvidal is 28-8 and is currently on a three fight win streak, with impressive decision victories over James Krause, Daron Cruickshank and Pat Healy.

The event will take place in the TD Garden Arena in Boston on Sunday 18th January and will be headlined by Conor McGregor taking on Dennis Siver. Also on the card, former lightweight champion Benson Henderson takes on former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez in the co-main event.
