Invicta FC president confirms Catherine Costigan to fight on July 10th in Las Vegas

When our very own Petesy Carroll spoke to Catherine ‘The Alpha Female’ Costigan upon signing with Invicta FC earlier this month, the 5-0 atomweight stated that she wanted on the 10th July card in Las Vegas and she asked the Irish MMA fans help to make it happen.

“We’ve just signed the contract but we have to discuss the different fights and opponents and that. I’m pretty sure that they’ll be smart about this and go after the money. There’s a date there on July 10 in Vegas and I’m ready for that. I’m constantly on a diet, I’m constantly training – this is the game, at some point a fight is always going to happen. There’s no point in being lazy in between fights.

“All of the Irish fans should be getting on to Invicta on Twitter and Facebook to let them know that they want to see me make my debut on July 10 in Vegas.

With thousands of Irish fans heading to Las Vegas for UFC 189 that weekend, putting Costigan on the card seemed like a no-brainer for the all female promotion.

Now in an interview with TalkingBrawls, Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp confirmed that Costigan will appear on the July show, the day before the UFC 189 featherweight title showdown between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.

“We’re working on finding the right opponent, but Catherine Costigan will fight on that July card, It makes perfect sense for Catherine to be on that card during International Fight Week. You can expect to see her there.”
