Sudden departure from UFC for Dubliner Dave Allen

Irishman Dave Allen, who was appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager of Europe, Middle East, and Africa in January, has left the UFC.

The news was first reported by Fighters Only, and has since been confirmed by various sources.

‏Allen spent a year as Director of Brand, Communications, and Events with the UFC before being placed in charge of EMEA operations six months ago. It appears, however, that his time in that role has been short lived.

Allen’s stint in charge was ostensibly a success with the Dubliner overseeing major events like UFC on FOX: Gustafsson vs. Johnson – an event that registered the UFC’s second highest all-time attendance – during his first month in charge. Allen also presided over the company’s debut in Poland in April, as well as the promotion’s most recent event: UFC Fight Night: Jędrzejczyk vs. Penne in Berlin last weekend.

Allen, who first joined the UFC in December 2013, had previously built a successful career in managing EMEA operations for premier sports brands like Nike and Umbro.

Not much is known yet regarding the circumstances of the Dubliner’s departure from the promotion.
