Anderson Silva will fight Michael Bisping in the main event of UFC London on February 27th. The news was announced by UFC president Dana White on Twitter today.

Initially matched against Gegard Mousasi, former TUF champion Bisping will now get the main-event slot in undoubtedly the biggest fight of his career to date.

His opponent will be the former middleweight champion and pound-for-pound king Anderson Silva. The longest ever reigning champion in the UFC, Silva’s run came to a shuddering halt with two losses at the hands of Chris Weidman. Upon his return from a broken leg in the second Weidman fight this year, Silva defeated Nick Diaz but failed a drug test and got a ban which he is serving until early next year.

With many complaints over the quality of the card this main-event of hometown hero vs. MMA legend is sure to please the masses.
