Broooooooooock Leeeeeeeesnar is on his way back to the Octagon.

Ariel Helwani first reported the news that will shock the world as Brock Lesnar is ready to step back into the Octagon at UFC 200.

Helwani reported earlier in the night that “Both sides are close to finalizing a deal, and if all goes well, Lesnar’s return to mixed martial arts could be announced imminently”

Update: A promo video for UFC 200 saying “Brock Lesnar is Back!!” was then posted on an official UFC account and the UFC aired a promo during the UFC 199 PPV broadcast confirming the news.

Since then MMAJunkie have stated that Lesnar will be the co-main event of the historic event against a yet to named opponent.

The WWE released the following statement:

“Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200.  Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network”

Lesnar, a former UFC heavyweight champion, has been in the WWE since losing to Alistair Overeem in December 2011.

Before that, “The Beast Incarnate” had beaten legends like Shane Carwin, Frank Mir and Randy Couture in an MMA career which looked like ending at 5-3.

But now, with Lesnar still signed to the WWE and an agreement in place, he will make a shock return to the undetermined form of combat.

Stayed tuned for more details as they emerge.
