BAMMA announced on Twitter yesterday that Northern Ireland’s Alan Philpott will be facing England’s Shay Walsh for the vacant Bantamweight title at BAMMA 30 which takes place on July 7th in the 3 Arena Dublin, Ireland.

Alan Philpott holds a professional MMA record of 16-9 with a record of 3-2 in BAMMA. Philpott lost his debut in BAMMA to Ed Arthur in 2015 before going on to win his next three fights in the promotion against the likes of Nathaniel Wood, Regis Sugden and Aaron Blackwell.

“The Apprentice” will be hoping to bounce back from his last contest where he lost to now UFC fighter Tom Duquesnoy via rear naked choke.

Shay Walsh holds a professional MMA record of 16-4 winning six of his last seven fights only losing to Duquesnoy this time last year. Walsh fought on BAMMA 29 only six days ago where he beat fellow Englishman Blackwell via unanimous decision.
