[Press Release] Three more bouts have today been made official for the BAMMA 30 lineup at the 3Arena, Dublin on 7th July. Niklas ‘Green Mask’ Stolze Takes on Chris ‘Menace Stringer, Paul Hughes faces off against Patrick Wixted and Blaine O’Driscoll and Jay ‘Red Bull’ Butler will collide.
Niklas ‘Green Mask’ Stolze made an instant impact on the Dublin crowd when he made his debut at BAMMA 27 against Terry Brazier. Despite coming up short he was impressive in defeat. He now makes the drop to Lightweight and will face veteran battler Chris ‘Menace’ Stringer. Chris Stringer provides a stern test for anyone who is brave enough to step in with him as his all round game is a challenge for anyone to solve. With both fighters hungry for the win in Dublin. The ‘Menace’ and ‘Green Mask’ are preparing to put on a show for the fans in attendance.
Making an instant impact in Belfast 19 year old Paul Hughes took all the plaudits for a dazzling display that saw him defeat Adam Gustab in under 2 minutes of the first round with a highlight reel finish on his BAMMA debut, Hughes has been the most sought after fighter ever since. He’s now back to take on a stern challenge in the shape of Patrick Wixted. Wixted is a highly-regarded fighter in his own right who has been out of action recently but is now 100% ready to jump back into the BAMMA cage and derail the hype that is growing around Hughes. This is one fight everyone will be watching closely, as the winner will be creating all the headlines.
After being scheduled for a Bantamweight clash with Chris Miah at BAMMA 29, injury to Miah put an end to Jay ‘Red Bull’ Butler’s return. However, with Blaine O’Driscoll waiting in the wings in Dublin, Butler won’t have too long to wait to get back in and put on the performance he’s been promising the fans deserve. O’Driscoll is another SBG Wonderkind to emerge from John Kavanagh’s coveted gym. Currently drawing attention of his own, he has been planning to add a few more victories to his record before challenging for titles. Adding Butler to that list will be his toughest challenge to date, but one that he’s more than up for. However, Butler isn’t going to lie down for anyone as he has his own destiny with BAMMA Gold and O’Driscoll in his path for the title and plans to remove him in front of his home crowd on July 7th.
Additional Info
Niklas ‘Green Mask’ Stolze (7-2) The German SBG Ireland fighter had his four fight win streak snapped by Terry ‘The Dominator’ Brazier at BAMMA 27 last year, but has since been back in the gym making all the necessary changes for his next fight. Now moving down to the shark infested waters of the Lightweight division, Stolze believes he can gain a size and strength advantage over the rest of the opposition there. Stolze will test the theory on the stiff challenge of Chris ‘Menace’ Stringer on July7th.
Chris ‘Menace’ Stringer (11-12-1) The Team Kaobon fighter is a veteran of the Irish MMA scene. Most recently signing a multi fight deal with BAMMA, unfortunately had to pull out of a Lonsdale title clash with rising star Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee due to injury. Preparing for his latest battle, the Liverpool based fighter will be bringing all his experience to the cage.
Paul Hughes (2-0) The Northern Irish EFR based fighter stunned the Belfast crowd in attendance with his quick demolition of Adam Gustab at BAMMA 28. The young fighter now has his sights on his next opponent and he will be honing his already devastating striking. Coupled with a smart ground defence, the sky’s the limit for this new superstar in the making as he approaches his second BAMMA bout.
Patrick Wixted (1-2) grabbed his first win at BAMMA 22 when his opponent Conor Dillon succumbed to a barrage of blows at the 2 minute mark of the second round, to get the win via TKO. Joining several of his team mates on the BAMMA 30 fightcard, the Team Ryano fighter will be looking to extend his winning streak when he meets Hughes on fight night.
Jay ‘Red Bull’ Butler (2-2) the Andy Roberts BJJ Instructor recently got awarded his BJJ black belt by Roger Gracie and intends to put that to full use at BAMMA 30. Butler has set his targets on finishing his career inside the BAMMA cage and with all of his fights ending by way of submission, his aggressive ground based attacks will be once more on display. The Farnborough fighter is expecting to show off nothing short of spectacular in his bout with O’Driscoll on July 7th.
Blaine O’Driscoll (4-1) Another standout prospect from SBG Ireland under the tutelage of John Kavanagh, O’Driscoll has been quietly amassing a solid set of victories. Scoring wins over the likes of Mark Andrew, Darren O’Gorman and Neil Ward, O’Driscoll finds himself on a 3 fight win streak that he plans to make 4 at 3Arena on fight night.
