“BAMMA 30 is the coming out party for the flyweight and middleweights shining new stars. Both Ryan Curtis and Fabian Edwards have taken it upon themselves to change their own destiny. They don’t have easy paths, however they have already got the eyes of the world upon them and appear to be taking it in their stride. Ryan has the experienced Daniel Barez, who has taken out another up and coming young gun in Jamie Powell on his way to BAMMA 30, so he will understand the scale of the challenge that awaits him.” – Jude Samuel BAMMA Matchmaker
The Lonsdale European title is set to be decided at the 3Arena, as Dublin’s own Ryan ‘Chaos’ Curtis will battle for the vacant belt against Spain’s Daniel Barez in what will be a fast paced, full frontal assault on the senses as two of Europe’s top Flyweight prospects lock horns and do battle for the gold. Raucous home town support will be there in numbers for Ryan Curtis but Barez will be stiff opposition for Curtis as the Spaniard won’t be coming to take home anything less than a win.
“None of them hit like me at this weight. If he thinks he will come to my hometown and beat me in front of my people then he in for a serious reality check from my fists” – Ryan ‘Chaos’ Curtis
“Shame Ryan has to face an animal like me at this stage in his career. I will knock Ryan out in his hometown in front of all his fans – FACT.” – Daniel Barez
BAMMA’s latest human highlight reel Fabian ‘The Assassin’ Edwards will travel to Dublin to give the fans in attendance a taste of his explosive power, as he targets Aaron Kennedy as the next subject of an abrupt ending at BAMMA 30. However, Kennedy has other plans as the Northern Ireland native takes the trip down South to halt the hype that’s fast rising to fever pitch around the Birmingham Middleweight. Kennedy has his own point to prove as he makes his pro debut at the 3Arena.
“There’s levels to this fighting game and July 7th in Dublin I will slap him silly around the cage” – Fabian ‘The Assassin’ Edwards
“I will knock out and shut this clown up on July 7th , mark my words” – Aaron Kennedy
The 3Arena will need to reinforce the cage when Ion ‘Bombardierul’ Pascu and Henry ‘Herculeez’ Fadipe collide. The heavy hitters are bringing a power punching extravaganza to Dublin. World gold medallist Judoka Matt Clempner makes his BAMMA debut against Ben ‘Spider Monkey’ Forsyth in a Light Heavyweight contest that will see a new star in the division emerge. Finally, Keith ‘The Butcher’ McCabe gets to take on Paul Lawrence in another Welterweight bout that will see them re-ignite their rivalry from their amateur days in the sport. It all goes down on Friday 7th July at the 3Arena, Dublin and tickets are on sale now from http://bit.ly/BAMMA30
Additional Info
Lonsdale European Title The highly respected and sought after title has a long history with the promotion and the belt is regarded as a ‘Prospects title’ which opens its doors to fighters from all over Europe. The title has been held by no shortage of respected competitors past and present including Marc ‘Bonecrusher’ Diakiese, Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards, Jack ‘The Hammer’ Marshman, Stevie ‘Braveheart’ Ray and current title holders Tim Barnett, Terry ‘The Dominator’ Brazier & Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott.
Ryan ‘Chaos’ Curtis (4-0) after a tough battle in his BAMMA debut against Shamsul ‘Black Magic’ Haque in which he won a dominating decision, the devastating striker from Owen Roddy’s SBG Charlestown gym makes the step up for the European title shot. Curtis has only seen outside the first round once in his fighting career, a proven finisher with the record to back it up make ‘Chaos’ a daunting prospect for anyone who faces him.
Daniel Barez (7-4) the aggressive striker from Spain steps into face Ryan Curtis after coming off the biggest win of his career to date, after claiming a victory over the previously undefeated Jamie Powell. With all his victories coming via stoppage the rapid fire attacks will be relentless and Barez will have no issue in taking the victory in front of the Dublin home town crowd.
Fabian ‘The Assassin’ Edwards (1-0) instantly has a name that might sound familiar in BAMMA, that’s because his older brother Leon was the former Lonsdale Welterweight Champion for the promotion. Training alongside him at UTC, the Middleweight prospect looks to build on his electric debut where he blasted Rafal Cerjrowski with a brutal 1st round flying knee stoppage. Going 10-0 as an amateur and only once going the distance with the majority of his other bouts, the Assassin has been making quite the name for himself.
Aaron Kennedy (Pro Debut) hailing from Northern Ireland, Aaron Kennedy recently relocated his training to Sweden in preparation for his big debut against the assassin. Winning all of his amateur bouts with a variety of strikes and submissions, he considers himself a complete MMA fighter and one that will derail the undefeated Edwards hype train before it even gets out of the station.
Ion ‘Bombardeirul’ Pascu (15-7) has recently made his new home at SBG under the watchful eye of John Kavanagh and will make his fourth appearance at BAMMA on July 7th. A formidable power puncher, he shocked everyone in attendance at BAMMA 13 on his debut when he KO’d the former Lonsdale Middleweight champion Jack ‘The Hammer’ Marshman. Now moving to Welterweight, the power puncher will be a handful for anyone in the division.
Henry ‘Herculeez’ Fadipe (9-8-1) is another ferocious striker joining the BAMMA Welterweight ranks at BAMMA 30. With serious power in his fists, he has only ever gone to decision twice in his eighteen fight career. Born in Lagos, Nigeria but fighting out of Kingz, Ireland, Fadipe is ready to announce his arrival on the biggest stage in Europe.
