KSW announce return date, Norman Parke title fight

KSW have announced their return to action following the cancellation of their last 3 planned events due to the COVID-19 pandemic with KSW 53: REBORN. The Polish promotion has slated July 11th for the comeback, a behind closed doors gala in Warsaw with the only way to watch on PPV.

Along with this announcement, KSW have announced the first couple of fights, the first of which is a lightweight title unification fight with Irish interest. Bushmills’ Norman Parke (28-6-1) will attempt to turn his interim championship into the undisputed title as he takes on Mateusz Gamrot (15-0) for the third time. This pairing has been one of the most heated rivalries in MMA and is steeped in controversy. At KSW 39, Gamrot got the nod on the judges scorecard, however the Poznań native appeared to bite Parke’s fingers during the fight. The rematch at KSW 40 in Dublin ended prematurely due to a couple of Gamrot fouls, which led to some unsavoury scenes after it was waved off. Tensions haven’t receded since then and with no crowd in attendance, it could lead to hearing some interesting trash talk in the cage.

In the second announcement, Gamrot’s teammate Borys Mankowski (20-8-1) takes on the Polish Zombie Marcin Wrzosek (14-6). Both men are former KSW champions and are known for their all action styles.

The only place to catch the action will be on KSWTV.com on July 11th at a cost in the region of €7.
