Ireland’s Dean Barry scored a highlight-reel KO at UAE Warriors 13 on Friday afternoon in his come-from-behind win over Abdulla Al Bousheiri in Dubai, UAE.

The SBG Charlestown fighter was forced to overcome adversity after an early grappling onslaught from his Kuwaiti opponent in the opening 2 minutes of the fight. Al Bousheiri secured an early takedown, landing repeated blows as he controlled the action from Barry’s back.

Barry was able to get the fight back to the feet, stuffing Al Bousheiri’s subsequent takedowns, and from there it was all Barry. The former multiple-time WAKO kickboxing world champion completely outclassed his opponent on the feet, landing a number of side kicks to the body as the pair began to exchange. The shots to the body appeared to take the wind out of Al Bousheiri’s sails, and it wasn’t long before the Tallaght striker connected with some hard right crosses, stunning his opponent before ultimately landing a flush left hook, rendering Al Bousheiri unconscious.

The win moves Barry to 3-1 in his MMA career, with all wins coming via 1st-round knockout.
