UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana Quick Review & Results

Fight Island was the setting on Saturday night for the bantamweight showdown between Holm Holm and Irene Aldana. Yorgan de Castro took on Carlos Felipe in a heavyweight bout in the co-main event. Let’s take a quick look at all the action that went down on the night.

In the main event it was Holly Holm who implemented her gameplan the best and she was awarded a unanimous decision victory in an entertaining fight. She cemented her status of the #2 ranked fighter in the bantamweight division.

Carlos Felipe won what was a mainly standup battle over Yorgan de Castro in the co-main event of the evening. The Brazilian took home the win with all three judges giving him the nod in the heavyweight bout.

In what was an astonishing turn of events Germaine De Randamie caught Juliana Peña in a third round guillotine and put her to sleep. It was GDR’s first submission victory of her career in a fight that was very close until the finish.

Kyler Phillips made sure it was a UFC debut for Cameron Else. Phillips got the stoppage win early in the second round and had Cameron wishing that he was somewhere else in their bantamweight matchup.

Dusko Todorovic threw everything except the kitchen sink at Dequan Townsend on the road to his third round TKO stoppage. The undefeated Serbian moved to 10-0 and picked up his first UFC win.

Carlos Condit made a successful return to the octagon tonight. The welterweight was on a five fight skid, he picked up a unanimous decision win over Court McGee.

Featherweight’s Joshua Culibao and Charles Jourdain fought to a majority draw in what was a very exciting fight.

Nassourdine Imavov and Jordan Williams fought in a real battle in the middleweight division with Imavov picking up the decision win.

Tiger muay Thai fighter Loma Lookboonmee got her hand raised when she went up against Jinh Yu Frey.

Casey Kenney obliterated Alateng Heili on his was to a judge’s decision. A very dominant performance over hus bantamweight counterpart.

Luigi Vendramini wasted zero time in the cards opening bout. the lightweight blasted through his opponent, Jesen Ayari early in the first round.
