A lightweight fight between Ireland’s Decky McAleenan (6-3) and England’s Adam Ventre (8-4) has been rebooked for Cage Warriors 118 on Friday 11th December. The pair were originally scheduled to fight back at Cage Warriors 115 in September, but it was one of a number of matchups scrapped from the promotion’s “TRILOGY” series of events due to positive COVID-19 test results.

A former Akuma FC featherweight champion, McAleenan is 2-2 under the Cage Warriors promotional banner, although the Team Torres BJJ man disputes his contentious split decision loss to Tom Mearns in 2019. After losing two consecutive decisions, McAleenan rebounded at CW 110 in Cork by defeating 47-fight veteran Antanas Jazbutis via unanimous decision. McAleenan will look to kick on and regain momentum when he faces Ventre.

Adam Ventre is a 5-fight Cage Warriors veteran who has competed at a variety of weight classes in recent years, prompting him to label himself as the “BMF” of Cage Warriors. The Liverpudlian previously fought another Irishman in Dylan Tuke back in 2016. After a back-and-forth contest that saw Ventre hurting Tuke badly, it was the Irishman who claimed victory via rear-naked choke. Since that fight, Ventre has gone 4-1 with three first-round finishes. The Next Generation MMA fighter most recently fought a common opponent to McAleenan in Antanas Jazbutis, also winning via unanimous decision less than 2 months before McAleenan’s win. Ventre will have the opportunity once again to claim victory over Irish opposition when the pair meet inside London’s York Hall.

Cage Warriors 118 will be broadcast LIVE on UFC Fight Pass.
