UFC Fight Night: Felder vs. Dos Anjos Results

Former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos went to battle with short notice replacement Paul Felder on Saturday night. The bout took place in the 155 pound division and was the main event of the evening.

Abdul Razak Alhassan and Khaos Williams was the co-main event, Next Generation’s Rhys McKee was in action on the prelims section of the card. See the official results and some highlights of the action that took place tonight in the UFC APEX.

Don’Tale Mayes and Roque Martinez went all three round in their heavyweight contest. Mayes ended the fight as the winner in the opening bout of the evening, he secured a unanimous decision victory on the scorecards.

Rhys McKee came up short in his second fight inside the UFC. The Next Generation IMMA fighter dropped a decision to Alex Morono in the 170 pound division. Rhys showcase a fantastic chin and heart, he constantly moved forward looking for the finish but Morono landed the cleaner shots overall and deserved to get the nod.

McKee lost his mouthpiece under the octagon in round three. Just when you think you’ve seen it all.

Tony Gravely defeated Geraldo de Freitas in a back a forth fight in the bantamweight division.

It was quickly turning into a night of decisions when Kanako Murata and Randa Markos fought all the way to the judges. Murata took home the W by unanimous decision.

Two strawweight prospects went to war when Kay Hansen and Cory McKenna squared off in the main card opener. McKenna won a unanimous decision over Hanson, a decision which caused some stir online. All three judges scored the bout exactly the same so it’s hard to argue with that.

Sean Strickland secured the first finish of the night, he knocked out Brendan Allen in round two of the 195 lbs catchweight encounter. It was Strickland’s second win inside the octagon in two weeks. He has returned after a two year layoff stemming from a motorcycle accident. A phenomenal comeback.

Ashley Yoder beat Miranda Granger by unanimous decision in the 115 pound division.

In the co-main event Khaos Williams put Abdul Razak Alhassan to sleep in the early stages of their welterweight fight. Alhassan had came into the fight overweight had his night cut short when Williams landed a straight right at the start of round one.

Paul Felder put in a great performance but fell short in his lightweight main event with former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. The judges were called upon and they scored the bout a split decision in a fight that many had dos Anjos winning comfortably. Felder took the fight on five days notice and made dos Anjos work for every inch of the victory, the Brazilian made a successful return to the 155 pound division.
