Cage Warriors 117 Results

The Trilogy Strikes Back, a trio of events put on by Cage Warriors this week, kicked off on Thursday night, December 10th at York Hall in London. The flyweight world title was up for grabs with Luke Shanks defended his belt against Jake Hadley. The co-main event was another fight in the 125-pound division when Adam Amarsinghe stepped in to to take on Sam Creasey.

Adam Cullen made short work of his opponent Oscar Ownsworth, Cullen secured a rear naked choke in round one of the lightweight encounter.

Michal Figlak put on a stellar performance in his 155-pound bout against Anthony O’Connor, Figlak moved one step closer to getting a title shot after he knocked out O’Connor in the second round.

Medhi Ben Lakhdar kept his undefeated record intact when he stopped Steve McIntosh at the start of the second round in the lightweight division. It was a phenomenal performance out of the Frenchman.

It has been a good week for Italian MMA and Michele Martignoni ensured it stayed that way. Martignoni got the unanimous decision victory in a come from behind win over Weslley Maia.

Sam Creasey may have put himself into the number one contender slot in the flyweight division, Creasey dropped Adam Amarasinghe in the first round, and went on to finish the fight in round two, looking massively impressive while doing so.

Jake Hadley was crowned the new flyweight champion when he dominated and defeated Luke Shanks to a five round unanimous decision victory. That win sees Hadley knocking on the door of a UFC callup and we should expect to see him there real soon.
