Bellator 258 Results

Bellator 258 went down yesterday and it was a fun night of fights. There were plenty of twists and turns as the night went on. Perhaps one of the biggest winners was James Gallagher, who seemed to be called out after every fight. Below are the results.

Erik Perez def Blaine Shutt via Unanimous Decision

This was a comfortable win for Perez. He was able to outgrapple Shutt for all three rounds and had the most impactful shots via ground and pound.

Johnny Soto def Weber Almeida via Unanimous Decision

This was all Soto from the second round onwards. Soto dominated the second in top position and put a whooping on Almeida. Similar story in the third. Soto always trying to finish, however Almeida toughed it out to the final bell.

Johnny Campbell def Henry Corrales via Submission (Round 2)

This one was a seesaw battle. Corrales was landing at will and caused a lot of damage. The tide turned near the end of the second when Campbell connected with an uppercut, knocking his opponent down, then followed him to the ground and finished with a rear naked choke.

Johnny Eblen def Daniel Madrid via KO/TKO

Eblen finished this early. He threw a combination and the final left hand landed flush on Madrid’s chin, knocking him down. Finished it with ground and pound.

Patchy Mix def Albert Morales via Submission (Round 3)

The first round was competitive, not far off winning half the round each on the mat. Mix took over in the second with a big takedown where he carried Morales across the cage. He dominated on the deck from there and ended it in the third with a head and arm choke. In his post fight interview, he called to rebook a fight with James Gallagher for the summer.

Lorenz Larkin def Rafael Carvalho via Split Decision

Larkin won this by mostly using the clinch very well and landing solid dirty boxing and slicing elbows. Carvalho was having the better of the striking in the open waters. Close fight.

Raufeon Stots def Josh Hill via Unanimous Decision

Stots pitched a shutout in this one. Had it all his own way. Dominated the grappling in the first round and secured the win with cleaner crisper striking in the next two.

Michael “Venom” Page def Derek Anderson via Doctor Stoppage (Round 1)

MVP doing MVP things. He put on a dominant, flashy kickboxing display. He badly broke Anderson’s nose with a big side kick to the face which forced the stoppage in between rounds.

Peter Queally def Patricky Pitbull via Doctor Stoppage (Round 2)

Queally with the biggest win of his career following big elbows from the bottom that caused a huge cut to open. The doctor stopped it in between rounds. The fight had been a 19-19 affair at the time of the stoppage on two cards, with Queally 20-18 up on the third. Patricky had been causing issues with the leg kicks in the first, but once Queally adjusted he was able to get the better of the fight. Huge win for the Waterford man.

Rumble had to overcome almost being stopped by Augusto in the first round after being clattered with a huge combination. The win came in the second when he landed a massive right hand that caught Augusto on the chin.

Sergio Pettis vs Juan Archuleta via Unanimous Decision

Sergio Pettis steps out of his brother’s shadow to win a world title of his own after beating Archuleta. Spain’s Archuleta couldn’t get his wrestling game going, either not landing the takedown or when he did, Pettis got back up again. Pettis’ counter striking looks the best it ever has and he landed some beautiful clean heavy blows. Two judges gave him 4 rounds, with the third giving him all 5.
