Ryan Shelley is set to return to action on the upcoming Cage Conflict card which is set to take place on December 4th. Shelley will join his brother on the card and the Team KF man is set to fight Italian prospect Paolo Vista (4-7) in the featherweight division.

Ryan Shelley made his amatuer debut in 2019 and went an impressive 5-1 before moving over to the professional ranks. The Team KF standout made his pro debut where he forced a stoppage over Alexander Yankov who could not answer the bell for round three. The featherweight prospect recently competed at Cage Warriors 127 where he picked up the second win of his career in impressive fashion.

Shelley faced off against Liam Molloy and the fight overall was a close affair. In the second round the former Taekwondo world champion scrambled from having his back taken, seized an opportunity to take the back of Molloy and locked in a sensational rear-naked choke to prove that he has some solid grappling to match his world class striking.

Shelley’s opponent, Paolo Vista has spent some time as a welterweight but the majority of his fights have been in the lightweight division. After a recent bad run of losses Vista will be making the move down to the featherweight division to take on Shelley and rejuvenate his career.

Looking to make it three wins out of three in 2021, Shelley took the time to speak with SevereMMA about the clash with his Italian rival and shared his thoughts on how the fight might play out.

“Very excited to compete for the 3rd time this year, this time with Cage Conflict. Fighting an experienced Italian opponent so I’m looking forward to getting in there and putting on a dominant performance. I see myself getting the finish late in the second round.

Cage Conflict 5 takes place on December 4th in the Devenish Complex in Belfast. Shelley’s brother Adam is also set to fight an Italian prospect on the same card, Paddy McCorry will defend his Welterweight Title in the main event. Stay tuned to SevereMMA for further updates and what is sure to be a stacked card.
