Caolan Loughran Signs With Cage Warriors: “I’ll Be Bantamweight Champion This Year!”

Undefeated Irish fighter Caolan “The Don” Loughran (4-0) has signed a multi-fight contract with Cage Warriors, multiple sources confirmed to SevereMMA.com.

The 25-year-old bantamweight prospect originally hails from Tyrone, where he first cut is teeth in MMA fighting out of Konfliction MMA in Cookstown. An impressive amateur run saw Loughran go 6-1, winning the Cage Legacy and Clan Wars amateur bantamweight championships along the way. It was Loughran’s next loss in 2018 to future Cage Warriors title contender Nathan Fletcher that pushed Loughran to make a change for the betterment of his training. “The Don” moved to Liverpool to seek out wrestling from Mike Grundy at Team Kaoban, a decision that Loughran feels was a game changer.

Since switching to Team Kaobon, Loughran hasn’t lost, capping off his amateur career in 2019 by claiming the Almighty Fighting Championship bantamweight strap. Turning professional in September 2019, Loughran now boasts an unblemished pro scorecard. However, there have been legitimate gaps in skill level between the Tyrone native and his opponents.

Now, Loughran will finally get the chance to prove his worth against more adequate competition as he enters the fray in one of Europe’s elite MMA promotions, Cage Warriors. Speaking to SevereMMA.com, Loughran expressed his excitement at the opportunity to make his mark in the promotion and prove to everyone that Caolan Loughran is a name to remember:

“Honestly, it’s the best news ever! I’ve been watching all the Cage Warriors ‘Trilogy’ series during the COVID-19 pandemic wanting to be a part of them! I genuinely believe I’ve become the best prospect coming out of this part of the world over here in Team Kaobon, and I’ll get the chance to show it on Cage Warriors. I’ll be bantamweight champion this year!”

Loughran is expected to make his Cage Warriors debut later this year.
