John Mitchell vs. Mariusz Mazur to take place at UAE Warriors on March 19th

John Mitchell (4-0) will step foot inside the UAE Warriors cage once more on March 19th to take on Mariusz Mazur (5-2), who fights out of Poland.

The fight will be contested at a Catchweight of 72kg (158 lbs). The Cork lightweight, who now trains out of Abu Dhabi, will be looking to continue his undefeated streak in what will be his third bout in the United Arab Emirates based promotion.

Mitchell made his debut in 2019 right in his backyard, in the Neptune Stadium, Cork. He picked up a unanimous decision win over Eric Nolan to kick off his professional career at Cage Warriors 110. “The Ripper” then beat Alan Brykalski at Cage Warriors 114 to move to 2-0 before making the jump to UAE Warriors.

Mitchell, who came up in MMA Cork, before moving to Dubai, impressed on his debut when he forced a doctor’s stoppage while taking on Arbi Emiev at UAE Warriors 20 in June of 2021. He followed that success, and moved to 4-0, when he dominated Konstantinos Ntelis enroute to a unanimous decision win at UAE Warriors 24 last October.

The Corkonian will now focus his attention on his next opponent Mariusz Mazur. The former KSW competitor was last seen at Babilon MMA 13 where he was defeated for the second time in his career. With five wins under his belt, and all five wins coming by way of stoppage, it’s clear that Mazur will be no easy fight for Mitchell.

Speaking to SevereMMA, Mitchell recognised the dangers of his opponent but still sees his arm getting raised when the fight is all said and done. He also shared his excitement about getting back in for his first fight of the year.

“As always I’m really excited to be back in there representing. There’s genuinely nothing I love more then the fight and the lead up to it.”

“Mariusz Mazur is a good fighter, he has fought on some good shows, but so was Konstantinos Ntelis and I dominated that fight. Mazur has good experience but I’m more than ready for any of these boys because of how hard I work.”

While not looking past his next rival, Mitchell has high hopes for 2022. When asked what his expectations were for the year, the answer was short and sweet.

“I want to win two or three more big fights in UAE Warriors and then fight in the UFC.”

John Mitchell will take on Mariusz Mazur at the UAE Warriors event which is set to take place on March 19th in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
