Shauna Bannon to face Chi Attoh for Flyweight belt in Cage Legacy 16 Headliner

Right off the back of her pro debut victory at Cage Legacy 15, Shauna Bannon is back in action once again. This time around she moves up a division to face Chinonye Bernadette Attoh (3-0) for the Flyweight belt at Cage Legacy 16. The fight will serve as the Main Event and will be the third Main Event slot in a row for the Holohan Martial Arts standout.

Bannon’s debut came following an illustrious amateur career where she won silver at the 2019 IMMAF World Championships and gold at the 2021 IMMAF World Cup. She rounded out her amateur career by winning the Cage Legacy Flyweight belt at amateur back at Cage Legacy 14 in December.

In her pro debut, the 2021 Severe MMA Amateur fighter of the year took on Kerry Isom (1-2). It took only two rounds for Bannon to get the win in her debut and pick up the strawweight belt. She dominated Isom throughout before forcing the referee to step in due to ground and pound midway through the second round.

Her opponent, Chinonye Bernadette Attoh, is undefeated as a pro after making her debut in December. This will be her first pro bout outside of Nigeria. In March, Attoh fought twice in the space of eight days at two different weight classes.

The BJJ purple belt is no stranger to the Emerald Isle, having trained here with Team Torres BJJ for some time. Her accolades in grappling include multiple medals as a blue belt in competitions such as the Irish Open, Grappling Industries and the Nordic open, to name a few.

The event is set to take place at the Pillo Hotel Ashbourne, Co. Meath on Friday, June 10, 2022.
