2022 MMA Worlds: Jake Ngai Secures Final Spot for Ireland

The semi-finals saw Ireland’s only remaining athlete Jake Ngai make it to final after outpointing Kazakhstan’s Chingis Idrissov.

Ngai’s grappling was the difference between two as he continued his fine run in the competition in his bid to become a World Champion.

Ngai’s run over the competition includes a win over opponents from Ukraine, Armenia and Kazakhstan. The final will see him take on the highly touted Otabek Rajabov. The Tajikistan fighter has won three IMMAF gold medals to date, only falling short of a medal at last year’s worlds.
