2022 World Championships: Irish Team, How to Watch and Day 1 Schedule

The 2022 IMMAF World Championships is about to get underway and Ireland have sent another strong squad filled with some Ireland’s top amateur talent.

The tournament will take place at the Stark Arena in Belgrade, Serbia. February 12 will be the opening day of action with the senior finals closing out the competition on February 17.

All brackets and results for each day of competition can be found on Smoothcomp. The competition schedule for the week can be found below. Note that Serbia is one hour ahead of Ireland.

Sunday, February 12

On the opening day, four Irish fighters will be in action. Jake Ngai is the first Irish fighter in action, he will take on Kazakhstan’s Kadyrbek Shinbayev in the opening bout of in Cage 4. Marco Cardillo is the second athlete in the junior category competing on Day 1, he faces Norway’s Artur Abubakarov in Cage 3.

Over in Cage 2, Ronan Deegan will be the first of the senior entries to step into the cage when he takes on New Zealand’s Kasib Murdoch. Jordan Bradshaw will round out the day in the lightweight division against Kyrgyzstan’s Maksudov Orozali in Cage 4.
