Chinese Prospect Banma Duoji Returns at ONE Fight Night 12

It’s been almost two years since Banma Duoji graced ONE Championship with his presence, but the wait for his return is nearly over.

“The Prince” will welcome Muay Thai stalwart Walter Goncalves to mixed martial arts in a flyweight showdown at ONE Fight Night 12 on Saturday, 15th July, inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Banma arrived at ONE as a favoured prospect in 2021, thanks to his impressive 13-1 record, and he was offered a stern first test as a result. The Chinese star met former strawweight king Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in his debut at ONE: BATTLEGROUND III.

Though he took a fast and furious approach to the contest, the relentless pressure from his veteran foe proved too much for Banma, and he slipped to a second-round knockout loss.

He hasn’t been in ONE since the fateful night, and some fans may have begun to regard him as a flash in the pan.

Thus, “The Prince” will be out to silence the haters at ONE Fight Night 12, while spoiling the MMA debut of his Brazilian foe.

Goncalves is one of the promotion’s deadliest flyweight strikers, and he has faced some of the biggest stars that ONE has on offer.

His experience against flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang and flyweight kickboxing titleholder Superlek will undoubtedly stand to him as he makes his move into the all-encompassing sport, and his hunger to succeed makes him a genuine threat.
