James Sheehan To Defend Cage Warriors Belt

Cage Warriors returns to Dublin on April 26th, 2025, and the event’s first fight has been officially announced today. James Sheehan will attempt to make the first defence of his welterweight title when he takes on Justin Burlinson at the RDS.

“Jimbo Slice” was last seen in action at Cage Warriors 170 last April where he submitted Daniel Konrad in the fourth round to win the vacant strap. The Team Ryano fighter was scheduled to face Giannis Bachar back in September but picked up an injury in the lead up to the fight.

Burlinson returned after an 18-month layoff recently and picked up a submission victory over Theodor Berggren to reaffirm his status as a leading contender in the promotion 170 lb division.

Cage Warriors 170 was a landmark occasion for Irish MMA, with 12 of the 14 Irish fighters in action on the card emerging victorious on the evening.
