UFC vet Chris Brennan off Cage Contender 12 due to arm injury

UFC and Pride FC legend Chris “The Westside Strangler” Brennan has been forced to withdraw from his planned February 25th bout in Dublin, Ireland due to an arm injury.

“I would like to apologize to the Cage Contender fans that I will not be fighting as planned in Dublin on 25th February, I was really looking forward to fighting Arni Isaksson but have damaged the tendons in my arm making it impossible for me to fight. I will make it up to the fans when I fight Cathal Pendred for the Cage Contender Welterweight Title in July” – Chris Brennan

Brennan was originally due fight Welterweight Champion Pendred but when Pendred got injured CC veteran and Pro FC Welterweight Champion Arni “The Ice Viking” Isaksson stepped in to face Brennan in a non title fight as chief support bout to fellow countryman Gunnar Nelson v Alenander Butenko.

“We, like the fans are dissapointed that Chris is injured but these things happen in the sport and we wish him a speedy recovery and now we have to concentrate on finding an opponent for The Ice Viking” – John Ferguson

Cage Contender hope to reveal a match up for Arni in the coming day.
