Ivan Zidar says he’s “better in every aspect” ahead of main event with Adam Caffrey

Next week’s Cage Legacy Halloween card features an exciting main event clash between rising bantamweights in Ireland’s Adam Caffrey and All Stars Sweden trainee Ivan Zidar.

26 year-old Zidar, 2-0 in his professional career, has began to turn a few heads in the mixed martial arts world thanks to his successive knockout victories over Viktor Gustavsson and even more impressively, a first round stoppage win over Irish prospect Nathan Kelly in July.

Speaking to Severe MMA ahead of his meeting with Caffrey, the Osijek native has told us how he has worked even more on both his wrestling and grappling for this fight camp which has given him more confidence in his striking, as he seeks a third KO victory on the trot.

Making his second walk under the Cage Legacy banner, the Stockholm trainer spoke about the advantages of fighting on a promotion which holds “a lot of events” and which also “gives people a chance to prove themselves”.

He also told us how the promotion’s stature has propelled his notoriety and how “the large network of people who used to live in his home town” have followed him to Ireland for fights and have witnessed his meteoric rise, something he is very excited by.

Next week’s opponent Caffrey also has two wins on his record, but also two blotches with the former BAMMA youngster losing his professional debut to Dylan Tuke via submission.

When asked about Caffrey, Ivan had some admirable words for “Beast Mode” complementing his willingness to “fight in close” but also claimed he was “better in every aspect” and how “the cage will prove it”.

Zidar is certainly not looking beyond Caffrey telling how “I live in the moment and my focus is on this fight and what happens after that we will have to wait and see”.

Zidar faces Caffrey in the main event of the Cage Legacy Halloween Havoc card on October 29th in Drogheda, Ireland.
