Taka Mhandu to face Sam Kelly in Cage Warriors Debut

A bantamweight fight between Taka “The Cat” Mhandu (2-1) and Sam “The Mighty Mole” Kelly (3-1) is set to take place at Cage Warriors 145 on Saturday 12th November in Manchester. Multiple sources confirmed the matchup to SevereMMA.com

The fight will serve as a promotional debut for both fighters. Zimbabwe-born Irishman Mhandu penned a 5-fight deal with Cage Warriors in March, while Manchester’s Kelly was signed last month.

Mhandu, who trains out of Team KF in Dublin, rebounded from the first defeat of his pro career with a dominant victory at Cage Conflict 6 in March. “The Cat” dismantled Meraj Ozbakzayi (2-0) en route to a second-round stoppage.

Sam Kelly trains between Team Quannum and Rio Grappling Club. All three of Kelly’s pro victories have come inside the distance. Most recently, “The Mighty Mole” finished Diego Gallardo (0-1) via rear-naked choke.

Cage Warriors have yet to announce a main event or full fight card for the Manchester event.
