Update: Graham Boylan said on The MMA Hour that he is now the sole owner of Cage Warriors and confirmed that they are back in business and hope to stage events in October and December 2015

After months of silence from the promotion there were signs of life from Cage Warriors today as they uploaded their first video in about four months.

The video which is embedded below ends with the text “Cage Warriors World Tour 2002-2014” before the 2014 starts to flicker and then cuts to “It’s time to play” and then finally to a shot of Graham Boylan cage side with one of their championships belt.

Boylan had left the promotion back in February 2015 and Cage Warriors cancelled their 2014 Irish New Year’s Eve event and haven’t staged an event since. The first hint that something was happening came when Boylan tweeted on Wednesday saying:

And then again on Thursday he tweeted that he feels rested from his 6 month break and that “It’s time to play”. Is it a coincidence that the same phrase was used on the Cage Warriors video and in Boylan’s tweet?  I doubt it.

Some MMA media had suggested that Boylan may be considered for recently department Irishman Dave Allen’s job as head of EMEA for the UFC but a return to Cage Warriors now seems more likely.

There is no official word yet from the promotion but Graham Boylan is scheduled to appear on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour which starts at 6pm BST (Irish and UK time) today (Monday) so be sure to tune in.
