Moore: I have what it takes to be Bellator champion

Brian ‘The Pikeman’ Moore will be given his second chance to impress Bellator brass when he takes on unbeaten Slovakian prospect Ľudovít Klein on April 14 in Budapest.

Sean Sheehan announced the fight yesterday in a SevereMMA.com exclusive.

Moore stepped in on short notice to replace Paul Redmond against one of the promotion’s top ranked featherweights, Daniel Weichel, in Dublin three months ago, but still believes he can win the promotion’s world title.

“It’s great to get a second chance,” said Moore.

“Everything was going right against Daniel up until I made a mistake. When you make a mistake against a high-level opponent like that you’re going to pay for it.

“I know I have a future with Bellator and I know I have what it takes to be their world champion.

“I took a fight against one of the best guys on their books on short notice, but everyone will see what I’m really about on April 14.”

Moore believes his experience will be a huge factor against Klein and insisted that he would drag the undefeated talent into the first fight he has ever been in.

“My overall game is insane now. I think I’m only coming into my prime.

“I’ve got this 6-0, 23-year-old in front of me. He’s only a boy compared to me. I’m going to drag him into the deep end. This is his pro debut as far as I’m concerned because this will be the first real fight he has ever been in.

“It’s going to be all about how he bounces back from his first defeat because I’m bring something to the table that he has never seen before.”

To realign himself with the promotion’s world title Moore will look to put on a convincing display next month.

The Wexford man is confident he has what it takes to finish the fight in the first round.

“I definitely want to put a stamp on this win. It will be a first round finish,” he predicted.

“He’s a southpaw and that suits me down to the ground because I always train with southpaws in the gym every day.

“I was so happy that he was a southpaw when I heard about the fight, I said it to John as soon as I found out.

“This guy is aggressive and hungry, but he’s not as hungry as me,” said Moore.
