Ireland’s Dean Barry (2-1) is set to return to the cage next month at UAE Warriors 13. The SBG Charlestown fighter will face Kuwait’s Abdulla Al Bousheiri (6-2) in a 163lbs catchweight bout. UAE Warriors posted a video of Al Bousheiri signing his side of the fight contract on social media earlier today. Barry had previously announced the matchup on his own social media earlier this week, and promotion officials confirmed with Severe MMA that the bout was official. UAE Warriors 13 will take place on Friday 25th September in Abu Dhabi.

Barry is a former multiple-time kickboxing world champion. The Tallaght fighter transitioned to Mixed Martial Arts in May 2017 when he began training at Tristar Gym in Montreal, home to UFC legend Georges St. Pierre. After moving back to Ireland, Barry found a new home under the watchful eye of Irish MMA legend Owen Roddy at SBG Charlestown. Barry will look to notch back-to-back victories for the first time in his MMA career when he faces Al Bousheiri, after stopping Corey Samuels (1-1) in the first round at Titan FC 55 last year.

Al Bousheiri’s MMA career didn’t initially go as planned, losing his first two fights. Since then, he has gone undefeated, finishing every opponent in the past 3 years. With 5 KOs, Al Bousheiri may look to test Barry’s kickboxing credentials when the pair step inside the cage in September.

UAW Warriors 13 will be streamed LIVE on www.mmatv.co.uk/mma/uae-warriors-13/.
